What will we be learning this week?

English:
  • Using apostrophes to mark singular possession in nouns
  • Reading fables such as 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'
  • Choosing our own two animals to write a fable and begin by using adjectives to describe their character
  • Writing our own fable ensuring it includes a clear message
  • Continue with our Guided Reading text 'The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark'
  • Starting our new class reader 'The Faraway Tree'
Maths:
  • Drawing and interpreting pictograms where the symbols represent 2, 5 and 10
  • Drawing tally charts and block diagrams to represent the colours of skittles
  • Continuing to learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables
  • Telling the time to the o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to
IPC:
  • Looking at how different materials age.  What signs of aging can we spot?
  • Having a special visit from a lady who attended Teesside High School many years ago.  We will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about how our school has changed over time.  We will also be looking at some of her photographs of Teesside High School in the past
