Investigating the Past!

Yesterday, the Year 1 and 2 children visited some of the residents at Timothy Hackworth Court.  They went to find out what food was like in the past and their experiences of food during the war.  One of the ladies showed the children her ration book and explained how they got their food.

The children had lots of their questions answered and were able to share lots of facts with each other when we got back to school

Class Assembly

A huge congratulations to our Year 2 children who gave us a super class assembly yesterday.  They had worked hard to learn all of their lines and delivered them beautifully, in loud, clear voices.  They were able to share a very important message with the Prep School children and their parents, and were able to explain the importance of healthy eating and eating 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

Well done everyone!

Visit to the Stottie Company

On Thursday the children in Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a fabulous trip to The Stottie Company cafe in Stockton.  The children completed a range of lovely activities including making their own stottie canapes and fruit kebabs.  They also had the opportunity to serve their friends using the till.  This trip supported our current IPC topic 'We are what we eat', and throughout the visit the children were reminded about the different food groups, and the importance of choosing a healthy balanced diet.

A big thank you to Mrs Olivero-Chapman for providing such a range of activities for our children, we had a great time!

Here are some pictures from our trip.
