Olympic Torch

A big thank you to Matthew for bringing in his mini Olympic torch from the London Olympic games.  The children have been able to look carefully at the shape and think about what the torch represents.  Just like the real relay, we have now passed the torch on to Year 4 so they too can have a closer look.

Speech and Drama Success

Congratulations to James, Kai, Olivia and Sam who have all passed their recent speech and drama exam with distinction.  James was particularly excited to receive his result, as he was awarded the highest mark overall.

Well done to you all, the hard work has paid off.

Forest Fun

The children enjoyed the sunshine last week and had a lovely session in the woods.  Having collected lots of twigs, leaves, feathers etc on our woodland trail, they built their own birds nests.

Olympic Swimmers

Last week Oban (Y5) was lucky enough to attend the swimming trials for the Olympic swimmers. She travelled to Glasgow and kindly took a letter and some pictures from the Year 2 children.

Yesterday was very exciting when we saw that our pictures had been added to Twitter as the swimmers were so pleased with them.

Look at our pictures on Twitter - @britishswimming

Indoor Olympics

The children had lots of fun taking part in an indoor Olympics session to start our new IPC topic 'Lighting the Torch'.  This unit will focus on the upcoming Rio Olympics and this was a great way to spark the children's enthusiasm.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to you all.  I hope that you have had a great Easter holiday and are feeling refreshed ready for another busy term.

Easter Fun!

Just before the Easter holidays the children in Year 1 and 2 had fun at an Easter coffee and craft morning.  They invited their parents and grand parents along to make Easter nests, take part in some Easter colouring and word searches and of course the grown ups drank coffee!

Thank you to everyone who supported this event.
