Obstacle Courses

The children have spent some time thinking about 'Knowledge, Skills and Understanding' which make up they key formula for learning for our IPC curriculum.  The children took part in an obstacle course activity with Year 1 to think more about this and practise their skills before putting together the ultimate obstacle course!

Computing

Year 2 made a great start to their new topic 'Algorithms' in computing this week.  Here are some of the children writing and debugging sets of instructions to send a Bee-Bot through a maze of cushions.

We are toy makers!

The children had lots of fun making their own toys as part of our entry point for our IPC topic 'The Magic Toymaker'.  I'm sure you will agree the children made a fantastic job of their toys - it's amazing what you can make from some boxes and bottles!

Our favourite toys!

The children enjoyed bringing their favourite toys into school to share with their friends.  They had to explain why this was their favourite and how it made them feel.

Toys from the Past

The children in Year 2 are continuing their IPC topic of 'The Magic Toymaker'.

This week, we have been investigating different toys from the past having borrowed a large box of toys from Durham.

The children have loved having a play with these toys, discussing what the toys are made from and whether or not they look like their own, modern day toys.
