Learning about the history of our school

28th January 2020

Today we were treated to a very special afternoon when a past pupil of our school, Mrs Leach came to share all her wonderful memories of life at Queen Victoria High School.  We learnt how different her school days were to ours but were also fascinated to discover that some traditions have been passed down through the generations of school pupils.  Whilst Mrs Leach was in a class of over 30 children aged between 5 and 7 years, she was awarded with house points just as we are.  We learnt that she used to go home for lunch, there was a fireplace in her classroom and only the staff and sixth form pupils could use the front door of the school.  Mrs Leach used to visit our school site here at Teesside High School to play fixtures with Cleveland School and she showed us the original plans for the new school building which has become the wonderful school Teesside High School which we all enjoy today.
