IPC Entry Point

As part of our IPC Entry Point for our new topic 'Sensational', we finished our week with a fun activity of using our senses to try and guess the flavours of different yoghurts.  We initially used our sense of sight and thought the yellow yoghurt might be banana or pineapple flavour and the pink yoghurt might be strawberry or raspberry.  When we used our sense of smell we began to question our initial predictions.  This then led us onto using our sense of taste to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.  With our spoons at the ready we dived in and although we all agreed the pink one was not strawberry or raspberry and the yellow one was not banana or pineapple we were very confused as to what the flavours could be.  Miss Hall revealed the pink one was actually lemon and lime and the yellow one was apricot!  Miss Hall had tricked us by using food colouring to change the colours of the yoghurts!  From this great activity we have already discovered how important it is to use as many senses as possible to explore the world around us.
