- Write a recount of our trip using the past tense correctly
- Share the text 'You Choose' by Nick Sharratt
- Make a story mountain for a story about an animal which could live under the stairs
- Big Write: writing our story
- Using words 'or', 'and', 'but' for co-ordination
- Spellings: /j/ spelt _dge or _ge
- Continue to enjoy our class text 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'
Maths
- Learn numbers bonds to 100 in tens. For example, 20+80=100, 40+60=100
- Add and subtract 1s to 100
- 10 more and 10 less for numbers to 100
- Add and subtract 10s to 100
- Count in 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s
IPC
- Full day trip to the Life Centre, Newcastle on Monday to take part in an interactive workshop all about our senses
- Exploring our sense of taste and our sense of smell. Can we identify different foods by smelling or tasting them we are wearing a blindfold?
Special Events this week:
- Monday 7th: School trip to the Life Centre, Newcastle all day. Children need to wear full school uniform and should bring their water bottle and a small amount of spending money for the gift shop
- Friday 11th: Parent Phonics Workshop, 3.20pm in Year 2 classroom. It would be wonderful to see as many parents there as possible. The workshop will give you further insight into the teaching of phonics and spelling and will allow you time to see some of the wonderful work the children have been producing which is on display in our classroom.
