The Tomato Spider

Today Year 2 have been learning about the fact that not everything is real on the internet!
Please look at the link below with your child and talk about why it might be fake. In class, we also looked for other websites about Tomato Spiders. We couldn't find any! That was a big clue! Can you find any websites about Tomato Spiders?

If the link doesn’t work you can just Google ‘Tomato Spider’.
Please leave a comment for us below about your findings. We promise to respond to all comments, next Wednesday, at the start of our Computing lesson.
Have fun!

    1. We don't think you'll find any, Mrs Kennedy! It was a fake website!

  2. We could only find pictures of tomatoes with fake legs stuck onto them! Although these photos and drawings were very funny, we have a suspicion that the tomato spider is not a real spider!

    1. You're correct Mr and Mrs Izzi! It was a fake website. There is no such thing as a Tomato Spider!

  3. We looked for other web sites, and checked out for photos and videos of a tomato spider but only found drawn pictures, no photos or videos. We looked to see what sort of information was on the internet for an animal we knew existed to compare with the information on a tomato spider and we came to the conclusion that this animal was probably not real.

  6. Keira and I searched images of tomato spiders. We saw a red spider mite on a tomato plant. It was close but not really a tomato spider. Then we went to Nat Geo kids to search on their site. Our key word tomato spider showed no results. After looking at a couple sites we realized there is no such thing as a tomato spider.
