English:
- Homophones
- Studying the story 'The Tunnel' by the author Anthony Browne. Have got any stories at home written by Anthony Browne?
- Studying what a story plan for 'The Tunnel' might have looked like
- Planning and writing our own 'Adventure Story' based on 'The Tunnel'
- In our story we are going to try and include:
- Capital letters and full stops
- Adjectives
- Similes
- Spellings: the suffixes '-less' and '-ly'
- Continuing our story time sharing the story: 'The Hen Who Wouldn't Give Up'
Maths:
- Daily 'Flashbacks'
- Revise our work about 'Directions' Giving someone directions to follow
- Making patterns
- Making shape sequences with 2D shapes
- Making shape patterns with 3D shapes
- TTRockstars Battle: who is going to win? Year 2 or Miss Hall? The battle finishes on Friday 8th May!
IPC:
- Have you beans started to grow that we planted last week?
- Different parts of a plant: seed, seedling, root, stem, leaves, flower, fruit, tendril, shoot, petal, stigma, stamen, pollen
- Creating a picture to show the different parts of a plant. Can you use resources you have at home to help you? Cupcake cases make good flowers and string makes great roots!
- Cutting up fruit to find some seeds. Can you plant them and help them grow?
Special events this week:
- It's V.E. day on Friday. There is a V.E. Day folder of activities in your folder of work this week. Feel free to use as many or as few of these as you wish. You might like to have a look at them during some Enrichment time
- Year 2 Google Class Meet: Monday 4th May at 3pm
