What will we be learning this week?
English:
- Using exclamation marks, full stops and question marks correctly to punctuate sentences
- Identifying adjectives within texts
- Using commas correctly when writing lists
- Reading the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and designing a poster advertising Daisy the Cow for sale
- Continuing with our Guided Reading text 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark'
- Continuing with our class reader text 'The Faraway Tree'
Maths:
- Starting our new unit of work all about 'shape'
- Revising names of 2D and 3D shapes
- Count sides and vertices of 2D shapes
- Accurately drawing 2D shapes
- Identifying lines of symmetry
- Making patterns with 2D shapes
IPC:
- Learning about the Spanish artist 'Joan Miro' and studying his work 'The Farm'
- Produce our own art work of the front of school based on 'The Farm'
- Studying Miro's work 'Carnival of the Harlequin'
Special events this week:
- We have forest school on Friday. Please ensure all children have their school PE tracksuit and school coat in school. They will also need a pair of wellies which should be brought in a separate bag
